After a slow start and steps of five minutes of work... my embroidery project is finished!
Now I have a little tablecloth to put on the kitchen table for a cup of tea in the afternoon or a glass of iced coffee.
Bunnies and butterflies are a good company when you are giving yourself a breathing space!
I really like the open-worked border made by AuntFran.
This tablecloth will always remember me my aunt, but also my beloved granny (died when I was 18), because this linen fabric originally was part of the curtains of her bedroom (where I slept for years with her, after the death of her husband).
And it will speak a bit about my mum, too. She gave me the transfer drawings I used (part of a collection she started at the end of the seventis).
A lot of sweet memories about the women of my life are connected with this embroidery project. And I love it!
I'm prett sure my mum used the same partner for something I used when I was a child (a dress? A napkin? Can't sort it out at the moment, but it certainly speaks to my heart so I can't be wrong!)

I think the pattern is from an issue of the magazine "Rakam".
DeleteThis is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am still studying Italian. But I feel like I make too many mistakes. I don't have the tenses down yet and I get confused with double pronouns. I could try commenting in the future in Italian and you can tell me if you understand me or not! haha
Well, italian is a difficult language to learn!
DeleteFell free to try to write italian comments, if you want :)
I have something very similar! Ditto the "speaks to my heart". Thanks for sharing it~
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, sweet pattern and your stitching and color choices are perfect. A beautiful treasure to honor the special women in your life.
